Malachi 3:7-9

⁷ Since the days of your fathers
    you have turned aside from my statutes
    and have not kept them.
Return to me,
    and I will return to you,
    says the Lord of hosts.
Yet you ask,
    “How can we return?”
⁸ Can a man rob God?
    Yet you are robbing me.
You ask, “How do we rob you?”
    In your tithes and offerings.
⁹ There is a curse on you all,
    for your entire nation has defrauded me.
